Happy New Year, welcome new decade. Can’t believe last decade I became a massive fan of Ashley, watched High School Musical way too often and started this fansite but it’s true. 2020 has arrived and I’m super excited to continue updating you with all the latest Ashley news. Speaking about Ashley, read her amazing and heartfelt recap of 2019 below:
2019 has been one of the most amazing year but also the most painful year of my life. I lost my soulmate/best friend Maui BUT I did some really cool things like released my album SYMPTOMS where I finally was able to speak my truth on my journey through anxiety and depression. I got over my fear of performing acoustic. I gained a whole family shooting #merryhappywhatever. We bought a forever home. I became @patriciaheaton daughter and gained another family @carolssecondact. We got a new puppy @ziggystardustfrench (even though my husband said he wasnât ready) and then got ANOTHER puppy @sushisuefrench (event though my husband said he didnât think we should get another one right now) I did all this and much more that I couldnât fit into this post. The reason I was able to do all this and get through all the pain was because of my man, my husband, the love of my life. @cmfrench picked up the pieces that fell apart and I couldnât have gotten through it without him. I look back and see through all my work I have been the most authentic Iâve ever been and thatâs something Iâm proud of and canât wait to continue on that path! 2020 LETS GO!!!!
Santa Claus is coming to town. Merry Christmas, Feliz Navidad, Frohe Weihnachten! Enjoy this special time with your loved ones, celebrate yourselves and enjoy all the time (and food) you can get. A little special message for Ashley:
Ash, may all your wishes come true this Christmas. We all know you’ve had a tough year. You opened up about a serious issue and helped so many Tizzies and people out there embracing their inner demons. You’ve been through a very tough time and I am sure Maui is watching over you, barking with joy, seeing you sharing your love with your family, friends, new little puppies and fans. She’s so proud of you! And so are we. Merry Christmas to you and your lovely family.
Ashley Tisdale is feeling merry and bright this holiday season, both literally and figuratively. Sheâs literally glowing as she promotes Neutrogenaâs new Bright Boost collection, a line of products powered by Neoglucosamine to gently resurface, re-texturize and replenish skin with hydration. And figuratively, her present and future is bright, as well. The 34-year-old actress talks to us about her beauty routine, her New Yearâs intentions (she doesnât make resolutions), her upcoming projects and howâfinallyâshe found self-love.
Obviously, as we head into our 30s, our skin tends to get dull, so what I love about the Neutrogena Bright Boost collection is that it is created by millennials for millennials to address that â it helps even out the skin tone and also helps with hydration.
I am a big fan of the Neutrogena Bright Boost Gel Cream and the Illuminating Face Serum. Within a week of using them together, my skin totally brightened up!
For me, itâs all about skin prep before makeup. What I love about the Neutrogena Bright Boost Illuminating Face Serum is that it really hydrates your skin, especially if you have committed any âskin sins,â like not drinking enough water. This will totally help brighten your skin before you apply any foundation or concealer.
I think the packaging and the fact that it is created by millennials for millennials, and not just someone in a lab creating what they think we need. Itâs created by those who need it, which I think really comes through in the product. For me, itâs something that I love being able to use, especially when you wear a ton of makeup for work like I do â my skin will get dull, and I do have trouble areas like evening out my skin tone, so I feel this line really helps me with all of that.
My daily routine is obviously washing my face using a gentle face wash, which is also what I love about this line because the Bright Boost Resurfacing Micro Polish is really soft and gentle. I am not a big fan of scrubs that are too abrasive and scrape your face, so this one is perfect because itâs really gentle and I feel I can use this weekly and then I just use the Gel Cream and Illuminating Face Serum, then go out and do my day. Then the one thing at night that I do is always take off my makeup â no matter what! So even if you canât get to products, I would say just wash your face because leaving makeup on your skin overnight is just not great.
I think for me itâs just drinking enough water. I drink 1.5 liters of water a day and I carry a big bottle with me throughout the day, so I know how much water I drink. What you eat and finding out what you are sensitive to food wise is important, too, because your skin is a reflection of what you are ingesting. So if something breaks you out, doing a journal of what you ate that day and seeing how your skin reacts is helpful. And really when it comes to products and skincare, I am not a big believer in having twenty things you need to do to your face at night. I am a big believer in quality over quantity and being very specific to what your skinâs needs are. Also, we are often taught to dry out face with a wash cloth but I have had a dermatologist say that is actually not good for you and it does create wrinkles more than it doesnât, so I tend to wash my face and let it air dry as much as possible before applying creams, serum and SPF and so on. And if you want to use a towel, I would say to gently pat it with a towel vs rubbing your face with it.
For me, I love playing the characters that I am playing. I always dreamt of being on a TV series, let alone two TV series, which is pretty wild, so I hope to continue doing that. Then, if I have time in between those production schedules, then I hope to do a cool indie movie. I am exploring things that I personally want to do in the lifestyle area, so I am excited to see what happens with that.
I feel like I have gotten to a point where I am my most natural self. I donât have extensions and I have been letting my hair air dry, which is wild because I donât think I have let my hair air dry for about fifteen years because I have really curly hair. I love my curly hair now, so whenever I have time off, I just let it go. So I think for me, itâs still self-exploring and self-love. I think one aspect is that you can use products that obviously make you feel good but really itâs about feeling good about yourself at the end of the day.
My greatest luxury right now is being able to work where I live. These days things donât always shoot in Los Angeles and I have a lot of friends who are away a lot, so for me to be able to do two series that I love and have them be on the same lot, is pretty amazing. You may not think of that as being a luxury but I have a friend who I havenât seen in eight months because she has been gone for work, shooting projects and hasnât been home at all. So it may seem like a small thing but I love it because I am able to see my husband and be home and see my family while I am also working, so itâs a very exciting thing to be able to do.
The new Netflix series âMerry, Happy, Whateverâ shows Ashley Tisdale in impressive moments of comedy & emotion. She spoke to HL about her latest role.
Ashley Tisdale takes on the holiday season as a newly single woman who is in the process of discovering her true self â while dealing with her family of wildly different personalities, of course! In the Netflix sitcom Merry, Happy, Whatever, Ashley stars as Kayla Quinn, the middle daughter of the Quinn family, led by their strong-willed, tough-loving father Don, played by the icon that is Dennis Quaid. Early in the series, Kaylaâs husband stuns her by demanding a divorce (in front of her whole family), which leads Kayla down a road of self-discovery, which ends in an emotional moment when she comes out as gay to her family. Interestingly, Ashley, along with the rest of the cast, was unaware of her characterâs arc and âfigured out who she was as the same time.â
âI only knew the first episode because Tucker [Cawley] wouldnât let us in on what was going to happen with our characters, which is really cool because sometimes if you know the arc of the character, youâre almost a couple steps ahead. Whereas I got to be in the moment with her trying to figure it out,â Ashley explained in an EXCLUSIVE interview with HollywoodLife.com. âSheâs trying to figure out who she is and sheâs in a self-identity crisis. I was trying to figure out who she was at the same time as well, so it was kind of like we did it together.â
âBut I have to say, yeah, it was one of the most fulfilling acting roles that Iâve really ever gotten to do because I think a lot of the roles that I have done in the past have been very strong characters and they know who they are and there isnât this, âWho am I?â Thatâs what I usually bring to a role because Iâm pretty confident person and I really know what I like, I know what I want,â Ashley continued, referencing her previous roles such as the determined Sharpay Evans in High School Musical and Maddie Fitzpatrick in Suite Life Of Zack and Cody. âWith Kayla, it was just such a different situation where I got to really add things in there.â
Ashley revealed that she found out about her characterâs story arc when she was tipped off by someone in wardrobe who dished that they would need to cut her hair mid-season. âI feel like there hasnât really been anything on TV where the journey of someone finding out that they are gay is documented. I think that was really different,â she explained. âI really cared about Kayla and I really respected her as a character, and I wanted to do [the coming out scene] in the most in the most authentic way.â
The actress added that playing the role âmeans so muchâ to her. âActing is all about being someone else and getting into someone elseâs shoes, so to jump into Kaylaâs shoes and to go through something Iâve never gone through in my life was really inspiring and beautiful I really was excited to share that,â Ashley said.
